This is the ski base serving the villages of Axams, Birgitz and Götzens and to a large extent, Innsbruck. A couple of large hotels, bars, mountain restaurants and ski hire shops which also sell ski accessories, make up the area of Axamer Lizum. It is an excellent location for those who wish to have skiing right on their doorstep and although there is no main village in sight you will find a lively atmosphere in the evening.
Skiing in Axamer Lizum
The lift pass covers the local snow-sure area of Axamer Lizum. The ski area offers a total of 10 lifts and totals 30km of piste. Axamer Lizum is where the Hotel Olympia is located and was the main site of the Innsbruck 1964 & 1976 Olympic Games. Although the 30kms available would slightly favour intermediates, beginners can enjoy good green slopes just 100 yrds from the Hotel Olympia. This is a compact and challenging ski area with excellent snow conditions.
Après Ski
In Axamer Lizum most après-ski activities centre around your hotel. A large disco provides hotel guests with lively entertainment each evening while recreation rooms, a games arcade and TV rooms offer a quieter form of après-ski. An indoor Aquatic Centre in Axams (8km away) is well worth a visit and an evening in Innsbruck, Tyrol’s capital, is a fun experience away from the slopes.
Bowling
An evening of bowling in Innsbruck is the perfect group activity providing a fun-filled end to a day on the slopes. Transfers required.
Ice Skating
Enjoy ice skating at the local ice skating rink for an ideal apres-ski activity. Transfers required.

Hotel Olympia
A well run, large hotel located on the slopes of Axamer Lizum just 150 yards from the ski lifts and beginner slopes.
It has 98 rooms all with en-suite facilities, which can accommodate from 2-4, and larger rooms 4-6. Like any large hotel, facilities are in abundance: large restaurant, dining room and house bar with open fire place, TV room, ski storage and a disco.
Backed by pine trees and surrounded by mountains, this laid-back hotel is a minute’s walk from the Axamer Lizum ski lifts, and 20 km from both the Bergisel ski jump and Innsbruck Airport.
The simple rooms offer en suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, and TVs with satellite channels.
